Planned new beginning of something. Is apt to be successful, if good cards follow. Aumakua may be guiding. The Transient as actor in a situation. The roses represent the male, and lilies the female. Around the Magician’s waist is a snake, representing mana. Above his head, is the two-fold symbol of the Aumakua, the utterly trustworthy pair of parental spirits, male and female. On the table before him are symbols of the Four Fields of Action - the four suits of the Minor Arcana. The Magician holds in his hand a candle lit at both ends, symbolizing the conjoined male and female consciousness units in the Aumakua.

In a reading, the Magician implies that the primal forces of creativity are yours if you can claim your power and act with awareness and concentration. This card is a signal to act and act now, provided you understand exactly what you want and are committed to getting it.
